MCP server · Verified answers · Working example
Let AI tools
ask your business,
not guess.
AI assistants answer questions about businesses all the time, and they often get prices, services and policies wrong. This site now answers those questions itself, in a form an AI assistant can use directly.
It's a small experiment on my own business. If it works, I can build the same thing for yours.
Try it on NRBWhat it does
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for an AI assistant to call a service and get structured answers back. The NRB server holds a set of short, checked answers, each covering one question: what I charge, what the review includes, what I build with, who the company is. An assistant asks for what it needs and gets the same answer a visitor would find on this site.
Every answer is an answer card: one question, one answer, links to the pages that back it up, and the date I last checked it. Prices appear once and everything else is built from that. That is what stops the website, the chatbot and the AI-facing files from quoting different prices, which was a real fault here until this week.
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
get_services | What NRB offers, how a project runs, what I've built. |
get_pricing | Current prices and payment terms. |
search_knowledge | The best-matching answers for a question or keywords. |
request_enquiry | Sends me a message for a person who has asked their assistant to get in touch. It needs their name, email address and explicit consent, and I reply by email. |
Nothing is stored about the people asking. I log which tool was called and which assistant called it, so I can tell whether anyone uses this.
How to connect
You need an AI assistant that supports remote MCP servers. The address is the same everywhere: https://nrbconsulting.co.uk/mcp.
- Claude Code: run this in a terminal.
claude mcp add --transport http nrb-consulting https://nrbconsulting.co.uk/mcp - Claude on the web or desktop: add a custom connector in your connector settings and paste the address.
- Other tools that read a JSON config: add a server entry with the address. The exact field names vary by tool.
{ "mcpServers": { "nrb-consulting": { "type": "http", "url": "https://nrbconsulting.co.uk/mcp" } } }
Then ask something that needs the answer, for example:
- "How much does NRB Consulting charge for a review of an existing web app?"
- "Does NRB work white-label for agencies?"
- "What does NRB build with, and what has it shipped?"
To see the raw protocol, send a request yourself:
curl -X POST https://nrbconsulting.co.uk/mcp \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"get_pricing","arguments":{}}}'
Only use request_enquiry if you want me to get in touch. It sends a real email.
The same thing for your business
Most small businesses have the same problem. The real answers live in an inbox, in someone's head, in an old PDF and on a website nobody has updated. When a customer, a new member of staff or an AI assistant asks, they get whichever version turns up first.
I'd set up a single, checked set of answers for your business, then use it everywhere you need it.
- Collect. I gather the questions your customers actually ask, from your emails, call notes, reviews and website.
- Clean. Duplicates are merged and personal data is removed.
- Check. You or your manager approve every answer. Nothing goes public unchecked, and each answer has an owner and a date to review it again.
- Publish. The same answers feed grouped FAQ pages on your website, replies to enquiries, your Google Business Profile and directory listings, and, if you want it, a server like this one for AI assistants.
- Keep it current. Answers are rechecked on their review date and new questions are added as they come in.
The first benefit comes before any AI is involved: your website, your replies and your staff stop contradicting each other.
What I can and can't promise
- I can't control what ChatGPT, Google or other assistants say about you. They choose their own sources. What I can do is make sure the facts they find from you are correct and consistent, and check what they say before and after.
- Most people's assistants don't look for servers like this yet. That's why I'm running it on my own business first. The honest measure is whether anyone outside NRB uses it.
- Answers are not live data. A policy or a price list works well as an answer. Today's stock, appointment slots and confirmed bookings need your booking or stock system.
- I can't promise assistants will book for your customers. That depends on whether your booking system or CRM supports it. I'll tell you what yours allows, and connect it if it's possible, but it isn't part of the pilot.
- It needs upkeep. Answers go out of date. That's why each one has an owner and a review date.
Start small
I'd begin with one area of your business, usually 20 to 30 of the most common or most valuable questions, such as enquiries about a particular service. The pilot has four parts:
- A before check. I put your customers' questions to a few AI assistants, save what they answer and which sources they cite, and mark each answer correct, wrong or missing. Prices and policies are reported separately, because a wrong price does the most harm.
- Your listings. I check your Google Business Profile and main directory listings against the answers and list what needs correcting. For a local business this often matters more than anything else here.
- The answers. We check the 20 to 30 answers together and publish them on your website and in your replies to enquiries.
- An after check. After 30 days I repeat the same questions and show you what changed. Assistants vary between runs and pick their own sources, so a change is evidence, not proof that my work caused it.
I agree the price in writing before any work starts.

Common questions
Is this the same as a chatbot?
No. A chatbot talks to visitors on your website. This gives AI assistants and your own team a checked set of answers to work from. The two can share it: this site's own chatbot uses the same prices.
Is it safe to connect?
The three read tools only return public information about NRB. The enquiry tool only sends an email to me, and only when a person has asked for it. It has rate limits and never sends to an address chosen by the caller.
Do I need a server like this to benefit?
No. Most of the value is having correct, consistent answers on your website and in your replies. The AI-facing server is an optional extra, and I'd only add it if it's likely to be used.
What does it cost?
I haven't set a standard price yet because I'm still testing this. Send me your details and I'll quote a fixed price for a small pilot before any work starts.
Can you do this for a business that isn't in the UK or Lancashire?
Yes. The work is remote and based on your own content. I work with UK businesses, so start there if you're unsure.
